Appearance on Land: Mercury looks pretty normal for the most part. Everywhere he has tattoos though (base of neck, left arm, down his side from his ribs to his left ankle) has fish-like, blue-shaded scaling. His ears have also been replaced with Vaporeon-like ears.

Appearance in Water/When Wet: Mercury's skin takes on a bluer tinge and his legs are replaced with a leafy sea dragon-like tail. From the elbow down, his arms have the same blue scaling that sits under his tattoos and his hands have a more claw-like appearance.

[ But looking around... and okay, he's a fish right, he should be good for running toward the nearest body of water. ]

[Mars taps his foot and counts to five in his head, before he poofs into a sleek black cat and zips after Mercury as fast as his four legs will carry him]

[ RACING TO EDGE OF POND though wait should he jump in when he gets there, won't his clothes get all soaked hmm this plan was not thought fully through. ]

[because if he doesn't make a decision quickly then he's gonna get pounced by CAT MARS who is going to latch onto the back of his shirt with his claws]

[ Startled and put off balance and. ]

[ Jump fast Mars or you're going for a swim with Mercury. ]

[he will regret this later but for now, decisions are being made]

[ SPLASHING IN WE GO and there is a noticeable change happening to Mercury's body when they hit the water in a splash of bubbles. ]

[there is also a VERY LOUD, VERY INDIGNANT YOWL that echoes throughout the air as they hit the water]

[Mars poofs back into a half-human and lets go of Mercury, dog-paddling towards the edge of the pool]

Fuck! Shit! It's cold!

[ Swimming easily over to Mars to pick him up. ]

Jeez, I warned you... you okay Mars?

[oh. . . thanks Mercury. clings to his unitmate now like the wet cat he is]

[has water always been this miserable??]

[ Starts swimming toward shore, though he does slow a bit as he. Considers. ]

... Well, if you're wet anyway I could use this to finish a square.

[ ALMOST SAYS IT but holds his tongue. ]

[ He does feel a bad at seeing how sad wet cat Mars looks, so he does it quick. Slipping them both into the water, quickly kissing Mars on the forehead before popping them back up. ]

[it's okay Mars brought this on himself. sputtering a little when they surface, ears flicking to clear away some water droplets]

Okay, okay! That's enough! Let me back to dry land now.

[ Laughing. ]

I think it's refreshing.

[ But swimming them over to shore now, brushing away some of the water carefully off Mars' ears. ]
